A classic look, these alternating light and dark squares have a traditional checkerboard pattern. With plain weave construction, the fine carbon tows have a soft, subtle sheen that creates a clean, sophisticated look. This pattern has a sophisticated look that will work well in almost any application. Spread tow also looks great with a satin finish – if you’re interested, give us a call for more information.

In our very thinnest sheet at .010” thick (1/100”), the veneer is so thin, you can almost see through the cross-weave if you hold it up to the light. It has the feel of a stiff paper and will wrap around a 1” pipe.  It only bends in one direction, so its best suited for application on flat surfaces or pipes.  It will not lie flat on compound curves, convex or concave surfaces. 

This sheet has a high gloss finish on one side and is pre-textured on the back to bond to any surface, using our 3M high-performance double-sided adhesive. (Satin finish is also available as a custom order.) It can be cut with scissors, a paper cutter, or a razor knife. No other sanding or prep work is required.
